Where to start with our Neddie noodle! Ned came to us as an occasional jumper when looking for fresh grass. Somewhere on the journey home, Ned lost his mind. It has been a long and at times distressing journey, which will continue throughout Ned’s life. The first morning, I went to halter Ned, he cleared our main gate and headed to a main road. Luckily it was scuppered by a hedge and we managed to get hold of him. After he kept jumping and appeared terrified, we brought him into the barn with his brother and began very gentle but intensive work with him. We built his confidence up to the trekker that he was in his previous home. However, it doesn’t take much to set him back and he will still jump when his training has been relaxed. Shearing was a very big deal for him and things like injections, hurt our bond and we re-build once again. When his head allows, he loves nothing more than meeting people and coming on walks. He hasn’t even been with us a year and he has come so far. He likes to be a llama in a crowd and not in a small group. He will stay with us for life, particularly given that the previous move unsettled him so much.
